Our Lady of Mercy Lay Carmelites

Community and Regional News — April 2018

  • Regional Day of Recollection. Because of the Day of Recollection, our next regular community meeting will be on July 15 in the Da Sousa House, St. Matthew’s classroom, starting at 2:00 p.m. This is the vigil of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel so at this meeting we will celebrate our feast day together. Please bring any special foods you would like to contribute. If possible, on Monday, July 16, please attend the 8:15 a.m. Mass at Holy Spirit Church. Those attending should wear their scapulars and sit together. There will be no community meeting in May or June.
  • Novena for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. The Novena for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel will be July 7-15 in the Da Sousa House, St. Matthew’s classroom. The novena will begin each night at 8:00 p.m. Topics are taken from the Carmelite classic, Divine Intimay by Fr. Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen. We need nine volunteer to lead a teopic — one for each night. Please sign up! At the end of June, I will send you all an email reminding you of the novena.
  • Regional Day of Recollection. The Spring Day of Recollection will be held here at Holy Spirit Church on June 9. The topic will be Living a Live of Deep Prayer in a World of Distractions. The cost for the day is $55 per individual; $85 for a married couple. Please make your check out to our treasurer. Ann will talk to us today about the events on the Day of Recollection. Registration form can be found here.
