Holy Week Online

Crucifixion by Giovanni Donato da Montorfano, 1495

Dear Third Order Carmelites,

I hope you are all well and growing in prayer and holiness during this time of self-isolation. You are all in my prayers, especially those of you working in medical care.

Susan

From the Order

I have received a couple of emails from Cindy Perrazo, T.O.Carm., Provincial Coordinator for the Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary. The first contains a letter from Fr. Luis Maza, who is the Carmelite’s General Councilor for the Americas.

Cindy’s second email contains the following excellent suggestions for Holy Week:

“I have several ideas listed below for online Carmelite prayer offerings. I hope you can utilize any or all of these as you enter fully into your Inner Cell this week.”

The Carmelite Community
  • The Carmelite Community - O.Carm. Whitefriars Hall, Washington, DC

Offers a daily Morning Prayer (LOH) and Mass combination. Several short pictorial/musical videos

Note: Whitefriars Hall is the Carmelite residence where our men who are studying for the priesthood reside. It is a beautiful space in Washington, DC, and also houses the Provincial Carmelite Library which is open to the public for serious researchers of the Carmelite Order (by appointment).

From Susan

  • In addition to Cindy’s recommendation of the weekday Mass at the National Shrine of St. Thérèse, my personal suggestion is the daily mass of Bishop Barron (see link below). It is also available on Youtube. (Isn’t it wonderful how accessible the Holy Mass is during this difficult time! But I know we all look forward with great anticipation to the day we can be present in person and receive our Lord physically in the Eucharist.)

    Word on Fire
    Daily Mass: 5:15am PT
(archived Masses available for viewing at our convenience)

God bless you all and may Our Lady of Mt. Carmel watch over all of us and all we love.

With love and prayers,
Susan
