Letter of the Prior General for the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel 2017

I want to send you an affectionate greeting with my most sincere congratulations. I hope that the feast and all the celebrations of these days (novenas, processions, religious and cultural events, etc.) will be an occasion to honor Mary under this title so popular and endearing and so dear to all of us Carmelites. May these celebrations touch our hearts, inspire our living of the charism, and transform our lives so that we become more and more faithful to the values of the Gospel.

The main highlight of the latest issue of the E-Bulletin for the Carmelite Laity is the conclusion of the extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy featuring two excellent articles. The first one is about the official celebrations at the end of this special year, and the second one tells about the Pilgrimage that both the General Council of the Carmelites (O.Carm.) and the General Definitory of the Discalced Carmelitas (O.C.D.) celebrated together at St. Peter’s Basilica.

May God be blessed forever, He who waited for me so long!

Letter of the Prior General on the Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel 2016

As we do every year, we get ready to celebrate the feasts in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, our Mother and Sister as we like to call her among Carmelites, following the ancient tradition that comes down to us from the Middle Ages.... This year I would like to propose for your reflection the experience and doctrine of three great Carmelites of different periods in our history who for different reasons we remember this year.
